My Mission
My mission is to empower and inform parents, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of the school system and understand the rights of their children under the Disability Standards of Education. I believe parents should be active participants in their child’s educational journey, ensuring that schools collaborate with them to provide the necessary support for their child’s success.
As an experienced educator with over 20 years of teaching and a parent who has spent the past 8 years attending weekly therapy sessions with my child, I bridge the gap between theory and practice. I work with schools and educators to help them understand the "why" behind the Disability Standards of Education—showing them that compliance isn’t just best practice, but the law. I provide guidance on how to create inclusive learning environments that benefit all students, while maintaining a healthy balance for teachers.
Beyond supporting families and schools, I advocate for systemic change at both state and federal levels. I’m calling for the appointment of an Educational Ombudsman, independent audits of schools (like day care centres), and greater accountability for schools and teachers under the law and The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. I envision a future where ALL school audits are publicly accessible, ensuring that parents can make informed decisions about their child’s education without relying on trial and error.
Together, we can create a more inclusive, accountable, and transparent education system for all children.
